Some of R&D+i results should be patented to protect the knowledge and results obtained, and improve marketability possibilities of the resulting technological packages. The Department performs state-of-the-art searches, supports the drafting of invention patent applications, manages the funding for intellectual property protection in Chile and abroad, and produces technology transfer models. In these activities, there is close relationship with the Intellectual Property Unit of the Universidad de Concepción.
