What kind of science Chile needs? What would be the best organization to develop technology and world-class research in our country? How the Chilean scientists will be by 2050?
“Institutional Framework for the Development of Science and Technology” is a meeting that aims to raise these questions and bring together the various actors of the national science around a debate that helps defining a new organization for Chilean science.

The event will be held on January 15 and 16 of 2013 at the Universidad de Concepción. It is part of a series of discussions and demonstrations carried out in recent months, which can be noted for its extensive and long-term perspective. Thus, the guests invited are the Minister of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina, Lino Barañao and Jacob Palis Jr., president of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, who will share the experiences of neighboring countries that have gone through reform processes of their scientific structures.
