The Technological Development Unit of the Universidad de Concepción invites advanced engineering students, or from forest and natural sciences, to participate in the fourth version of the student Exchange Program with the University of Maine.
Two students will be selected to conduct a research stay for 10 weeks in the US university and work on issues related to chemical or thermochemical processing of biomass, the development of new biomaterials or biofuels, or other related items to the bioeconomy.
Applications from students who are in the final year of their university careers in forest, chemical and natural sciences, and whose work at the University of Maine is complementary to the thesis to be conducted, as part of their syllabus, will be prioritized.
The requirements for applicants are: Advanced level of spoken and written English and being available to travel on May 31 to the United States. The stay ends on August 1, 2015, date on which the beneficiaries will return to Chile, along with a group of North American students, who will stay for a week in the country.
The program offers round-trip tickets to Maine, accommodation and traveling expenses of 650 US$ for students.
