Inaugurating an exchange program between the University of Maine and the Technological Development Unit (UDT), on June 1, Sergio Gallegos, senior student of Chemical Engineering, and Christian Amthauer, recently graduated from the same university course, traveled to the United States to conduct a 10-week internship at said institution.

Maine is located in the New England area, located in northeastern United States. Over 95% of its territory is forested, producing every year a considerable amount of pulp to manufacture paper and wood, which are very similar conditions to those of the Bío Bío Region.

From U.S.A. to UDT

The same exchange program will allow the arrival of two North American students who will arrive on June 10 to the area to work during 10 weeks in the Biomaterials and Bioenergy Departments of UDT.
