Our society demands materials of easy decomposition, especially when they are used only once or their use is for short periods of time.

The market has responded to this demand and is offering bioplastics, which are obtained from renewable raw materials and are biodegradable/compostable; the best known worldwide are polylactic acid (PLA), polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA and PBAT) and thermoplastic starch.

In UDT we develop a product called IMwood, which has the particularity of being able to be fed together with PLA to injection molding equipment; both materials are mixed homogeneously during the transformation process, improving their rheological characteristics, giving a natural appearance to extruded products and significantly reducing the manufacturing cost.
