On Tuesday, November 6, from 9:00 am, the Workshop: Biocarbons for Energy Production and Environmental Remediation will be held. This is an initiative that seeks to show how new hybrid materials based on biocarbons can contribute to the same time to decontaminate water and produce energy. The workshop will be held in the Jaime Baeza Auditorium, located in the EMPREUDEC Building of the Universidad de Concepción, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
This activity is part of the objectives of the French-Chilean Network for the Valorization of Biocarbons (BIOCval2E) made up of working groups from UDT-UdeC and the CEMHTI-CNRS of the University of Orléans, France. The workshop has the participation of leading researchers from the Universidad de Concepción and the University of Orléans that will address different issues related to the use of carbonaceous materials, mainly in the areas of conversion and production of energy as well as remediation of contaminated water using solar technology.
The objective of this international collaboration network is to produce a range of nanoporous biocarbon multifunctional materials prepared from agricultural and urban low cost waste and that can be used as catalysts, photocatalysts and adsorbents for energy and environmental applications.
3 are the associated projects that support the Biocarbon Workshop:
